A fine batting display laid the foundations for Wargrave u11 first league win of the season. Openers Tom Walker & Freddie Redrup started with a 63 partnership. Tom 25 retired and Freddie 13, batted really well, with a feature of their innings their running between the wickets. Once these 2 had departed the momentum was carried on by ALex Flann 14no & Harry Blades 16. When Wargrave innings had finished they had a dominating total of 108 to defend.
Crown Woods reply got off to a slow start & never recovered. Some fine bowling from all the Wargrave bowlers helped Wargrave bowl Crown Wood out for 46 in the 19 over. Fine bowling from Chris Hattey 2 wickets from 3 overs & Leg spinner Gabriel Burch 2 for 11 were the pick of the bowlers. There were also some excellent bowling from Joe Brinsden, Fenn WIngate, Oliver Powser & Max James which helped the team to a convincing win.
Overall this was a pleasing performance from the team but there are still lots of work to be done & lots of improvement that can be done.
Next game is away at Sonning on Tuesday the 10th.
